In December 2012, Jesse Elliott (bandleader of touring stalwarts These United States) was stopping over in Denver for a month on his way to a new life in New York City. But as the members of Ark Life met each other, journeyed into the mountains, and started playing music together, it became clear he was going to have to stick around a bit longer. The 3-part harmonies of pianist Lindsay McWilliams, bassist Anna Morsett (also of TUS), and guitarist Natalie Tate just blended too perfectly with the velvet grooves of drummer Ben Desoto. Elliott was smitten, and the result is a mile high ocean of uplift, equal parts mischief and heartthrob, that pulls as much from contemporaries like Cotton Jones, Bahamas, and Fruit Bats as from the band’s enduring loves for Astral Weeks, Motown, Leonard Cohen, and the classic campfire singalong.
Rogue Barrister Records along with River’s Edge Theatre is excited to bring Jesse Elliot and his new band to downtown Yorkville. Jesse and These United States last performed at the Harvest Moon Festival along the Fox River. As an added bonus Brent Brown (www.BrentBrownMusic.com) will be performing a solo set at this intimate spot to open the night. As always expect some fine Three Angels beer to be available as a limited release on the night of the show.
Very limited amount of tickets available so make sure you get yours early before they’re gone. See www.riversedgetheatre for all ticket information.
